Designer Coke

Part of being a creative, is putting your own spin on the more mundane.  When I saw this post on Design Taxi, it made me smile. Is there a more iconic way to show your style than by redesigning a Coke bottle?  That pairs my love of Coke and art in a perfect marriage.
I think I will have to try it for myself...
In the meantime - what's your fave?  I personally love the Versace bottle (that for some reason won't post here, so go to the Design Taxi site to see it...).

Grammar Goofs

This is a complete diversion from all photographic and artsy...but perhaps it's not.  How we express ourselves is directly related to how effectively our communications are received.  Proper grammar is a HUGE part of that.  When I saw this succinct guide to common goofs, I thought it was well worth passing along!

I'm Published (again) in...

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this magazine.  So to be chosen again to have a piece featured in it is such an honour.  And on top of it, it is one of my favourite pieces of all time. You can find this image of CJ, Tik and Cricket on page 119!

Sophia

I was so enormously flattered to be entrusted with Sophia's headshots. Not only are her parents both incredibly talented actors, directors and creatives in their own right, but let's just say that they MORE than know their way around the industry.  This quickly became one of my FAVE shoots ever.  Sophia is gorgeous, talented and so beautifully direct-able.  I could shoot her all day. The first shot is my personal favourite from the day (and was a serious contender for the final headshots) - I love how the light plays across her face.  But the three that follow are the shots the we chose to represent her in her career.  I love the range she portrays and I know that she is going to knock 'em dead.
Kill it at emerge Soph!

"She Saw Her Past"

I just released a new painting to the world.  It can be viewed and purchased on my Etsy site.  Or just enjoyed here! As a side note....I think it's interesting that I keep wanting to call it "She Saw Her Future"...maybe there's more to her story than I thought...
I love the vintage photos and bits of an old film.

An Awesome Morning!

I just had the most awesome morning visiting with an old friend that I haven't seen in over a year.  It was a chance to talk about life and catch up and share art talk.  I love time like this.  I come away feeling so refreshed and energized. There is something so fantastic about sharing where you are at and talking about what inspires.  I loved it! And she brought me some lovely little treats from the Philippines.  I love them all (eating the amazing dried mangoes as I write this), but my favourite, because of how creative it is, is the coolest little change purse made out of recycled drink containers. I love this up-cycling - what incredible ingenuity.
And to make my morning even more fabulous, this lovely lady - Fortune 6, as well as a "Pinkie" got to go home with her as well. I am so grateful for the support and connection with fantastic friends.
Thanks for a great morning Annika!
