Kash - 1 year!

So so negligent with my posting.  These Life Art pieces were from a few months ago and as I was doing some routine tidying in my computer, I realized I hadn't posted them yet! These pieces were created from their own images to finish up Kash's 1 year album. Enjoy!!

Missing You

This new piece came out of missing Carter as she went to spend some time at Grandma's.  It helped me to connect to her energy, just by spending time with the pictures.  It never ceases to amaze me how pictures connect us to loved ones.  I can hear her giggle and see her inherent goofiness, and it makes me smile.

Brooklyn

I was doing some housecleaning on my computer and came across these pictures from a year or two ago.  I was fortunate enough to be asked to do a Life Art album for a good friend's niece.  I had forgotten how much fun it was and how much I love how it came out!  This is something they will have forever - what an incredible legacy to pass down to Brooklynn when she is a bit older!

NYC Journal Page

I realize that I have used this images a number of times, but it occured to me that I should have it in a journal, as it may not always be on the wall. I had the perfect background journal page that worked with the colours in the image. Combined with a bit of journaling that sums up the root of how I feel about NY, I'm happy with the overall feel!

New Life Art!

I love creating Life Art!  It is always such a fun process to see where my head starts in the design process, and where the final image ends up.  These two pieces are very different.  The Bahamas piece is full of texture and bits and pieces related to the ocean. Even though I didn't shoot the original images, it is important for me to work with them to make them part of the style that I am creating in the piece. They are very different from the original images I started with. Click on the images to view them larger.
Kash's first birthday Life Art is again created with images from lovely Cheyenne and Lori. I wanted the main focus to be on the messy boy eating his cake. After all, isn't that what 1st birthdays are all about?  And then to follow up with the rest of the images to finish telling the story of the day.  I love love love that when Kash and Emory are older, they will have this amazing story of their lives that has been put together for them.

Faith

Part of creating a Legacy is showing future generations who you are.  Who I am.  Most of us don't put enough time in to putting down our values, thoughts, feelings and emotions in to a tangible form that can be read and understood by those that love us and come after us. It's hard to commit yourself to paper - knowing that it will be read - potentially judged.  As humans, we have a hard time being judged and perhaps found wanting. Of course, that is just perception. Because at the end, the only opinion of ourselves that matters, is our own. I have been following the thoughts and journaling prompts on Your Life Spelled Out. Though I am never (or rarely) at a loss for what to write about or create, I have found having somewhere to focus my (occasionally) scattered thoughts has been very helpful.  Her gentle suggestions guide me to think about different aspects of my thoughts and life. So today, I put down my thoughts on Faith. As always - this is hard for me to share deep inner goo, but I am learning to be gentle. To put myself out there and to trust in the process of creativity that flows from it.  That is Faith in itself.

The Raven

I love the things that kids say. They are learning so much, but sometimes the wires get a bit crossed. This was one of my faves; uttered when we were driving around one day. And what I love most about it, is that she isn't self c0nscious when she makes a mistake. Usually she laughs uproariously about it and we giggle over it for days. We can learn a lot from kids.

Grungy Life Art

Mmm...I love this design for Emory's 1 year shots. I love the textures and energy in it. It has been so fun watching you grow this year, little man!

Who is CJ?

This is CJ at 3 1/2 - almost 4. These are all the things that define her and make up her personality. (Or did 6 months ago!) It's amazing that even in the 6 months since I created this, how many things have changed on this list. I'm so glad to have this reminder of her.

Caiden - Even More Life Art!

Well, we've come to the end of the 1 year Life Art project for Caiden. It was so much fun to capture and create these pages for them! These two pages are filling in the gaps. One of them is from when J was expecting him and all the shots they took of her growing belly. I love seeing this sequence! The other is from part of our time down in Fish Creek when he was 9 months. I have loved seeing him grow and change over the year and can't wait to see him as a little boy too! Thanks guys!

Caiden - More Life Art!

So I've been busy creating more Life Art for little Caiden. Here is some of what I've been playing with. These first ones are from his one year session. All the background papers have been created from scratch to go with the layouts.
This next one is from his 6 month session. We've been jumping around a bit - but I'm getting close to having his year done! I love the little details like the butterflies, "grass" and footprints in this one. So much fun! More to come soon...

Digital Scrapbook Papers

As some of you might know, a few months ago, I launched my first two lines of Digi Scrapbook papers. I am so pleased to announce that they are now available on my website at http://www.chipperfieldphotography.com/ in the orderables gallery. Here are the preview images to give you a taste of what you will be able to play with.

Here is a sample image using one of the Peony papers with a beautiful butterfly detail. The script text in the backgrounds lend a nostalgic air to these varied and organically based papers.I will be doing a random draw at the end of this week, from any comments made to this post for a free set of both papers!

For everyone else, the papers may be ordered directly on line and I offer Paypal for easy payment. In some shopping cart weirdness, the prices show in USD but will actually be in CAD and include GST.

Thanks for playing!
