Cricket August 2, 2002- September 27, 2013

Last night we very sadly said good bye to one of the most amazing dogs we could ever have had the pleasure of sharing our lives with.  Cricket - you are so missed already. Thank you thank you thank you for shedding on us, licking our tears and being an ever present companion.  You have been my best little friend and while my heart is broken today, it is full from having had the privilege of loving you.

Lani Hayden

And some more headshots from a while ago.  Lani is always a blast to work with and I love that she's a little off the wall - like me!  She went with a whole series of shots, so I am sharing them all here.
Break a leg Lani!

Scott Olynek

I just realized how off the hook busy I have been for the last few weeks and that I am way behind on the images I wanted to share from various shoots.  Here is a headshot image that Scott and I did to take him in to the next phase of his career.
Bear with me as I slowly try to catch up on some images that should have been posted ages ago! It seems like I never quite get on top of this side of running a business.

Flood Picture Restoration

I thought I would share a picture that I was asked to try and restore.  This image was recovered from a home in High River that belongs to the parents of a good friend of mine. When they first called me about it, they said it was in sewage water and was all wrinkled.  They didn't know if anything could be done, but would I try?  So I dove in.  After washing it off, while being careful not to remove any of the fragile emulsion, I put it to dry under a weight. I scanned it in and then set to work in Photoshop. A lot of the detail was lost under the muck, and without having seen the original, it's hard to know how much was there in the first place.  But I think I was able to do a credible job of getting it back.  Here are the before and after shots:

Adoptable Kittens and Cats from AARCS

CLOVE

Clove is a very outgoing 4 month old kitten. She has no fear and immediate settles into new environments. Clove loves everything and everyone; other cats, dogs, kids…you name it, Clove loves them! And oh boy, does she love to play! A typical day in the life of Clove goes like this; breakfast, play, play some more, nap, play, supper, play, snuggle on the couch with her people, play until bed time. That’s a lot of playing, but Clove also LOVES her snuggle time! She will happily curl up on your lap or shoulder and purr contently until she falls asleep. And she’s a good sleeper at night. There is no middle of the night playtime. She gets all her playing done during the day. Clove uses the litter box 100%, doesn’t scratch the furniture or get into anything that she shouldn’t. Because Clove is young and still very playful she would do best in a home with another young cat/kitten to be her buddy. If you are looking for a kitten who will provide hours of entertainment as well as soak up all the love you can give her then Clove is the kitten for you!http://aarcs.ca/portfolio-item/a20926834/

 SADIE

Sadi is a 5 year old, declawed female who came into AARCS care with her ‘sister’ Myrtle when their previous owner became ill and could no longer care for them. There is no doubt that Sadi’s previous owner loved her very much as she has a wonderful disposition and is very, very friendly. She LOVES to sit in the window and have a nap in the afternoon sun or watch the birds and squirrels in the trees. Sadi loves to be petted, get ear scratches and will sleep with her people on occasion. Sadi is curious and likes to know what is going on. She accompanies her foster Mom where ever she goes, preferring to walk along beside her rather than being carried. Sadi currently lives with other cats and a dog and gets along with everyone. It would be wonderful if Sadi was adopted with her sister Myrtle, but it’s not mandatory. Does Sadi sound like she’s the right cat to make your family complete?? http://aarcs.ca/portfolio-item/a20555407/

MYRTLE

Myrtle is an absolutely beautiful 5 year old female who came into AARCS care with her ‘sister’ Sadi when their previous owner became ill and could no longer care for them. Everyone that meets Myrtle comments on how beautiful and what a lovely mannered cat she is. Myrtle is a very calm, laid back lady (yes, she’s all lady!) who enjoys lounging in the sunshine and keeping her people company. She is rarely makes a sound and has a little tiny meow. Myrtle doesn’t beg for affection but if you’d like to snuggle with her then she’s all for it! She’ll happily sit on your lap or be carried around. Myrtle lives with several other cats and a dog and gets along fine with them, although her foster family is sure she’ll be happy to see the rambuncious kitten get adopted. It would be wonderful if Myrtle was adopted with her sister Sadi, but it’s not mandatory. If you are interested in Myrtle please pay her a visit, you will fall instantly in love! http://aarcs.ca/portfolio-item/a20555362/

Take one of these ladies home - adopt today!

Sproule Golf Tournament

I am always so thrilled when I am asked to shoot Sproule's annual golf tournament at the beautiful Earl Grey Golf Club.  It is such a fun day - I mean really, enjoying the sun, taking photos and getting people to laugh?  Somehow that doesn't feel a lot like work.  And thankfully, this year there was sun! That date is notorious for rain, wind and generally blustery weather, so I was happy for 24 degrees and gorgeous.  Here are just a couple shots from the day. Thanks for having me out!

Carla's Birthday

Carla had a birthday a short while ago, and thoughtful Cory gave her the gift of family photos-including the co-operation of her children. And they were fabulous! I love all the different shots we got. So here's a sneak peek for you Carla - hope you love them!  And you get to see all the rest tomorrow. :)

Cassie, Jillian and Sandy

I love being invited to be a part of the various relationships within a family. So when Heather asked me to capture her daughters and their aging dog, Sandy, I felt honoured to be asked. This secret project is for their dad, so if you know them...hush hush....
Here is a teaser of a few of the shots from the day:
