Christmas Connection

New Art Journal Backgrounds

I went to an evening crop at The Scrap Yard on Saturday night and had an absolute blast.  My friend and I stepped out of a traditional crop and worked on our journal pages.  Here are the backgrounds that I created that night.  They make me happy everytime I look at them. And I completely love the cyclops thing going on.

NYC Journal Page

 I realize that I have used this images a number of times, but it occured to me that I should have it in a journal, as it may not always be on the wall. I had the perfect background journal page that worked with the colours in the image. Combined with a bit of journaling that sums up the root of how I feel about NY, I'm happy with the overall feel!

The Fitzpatricks

 One of my favourite things is when a client lets me play! Check out the composites that I created for this family.  I am especially having a love affair with the first one...

This year, I am also soooooo appreciative of being able to print even the largest images in house.  I can create a consistent look as well as keeping timelines under control.  I am no longer at the mercies of my various labs in this very busy photography season. Very, very grateful!

New original art listed on Etsy

I have created a couple of new pieces that I just listed for sale on Etsy. They are both 14x14 gallery wrapped canvases and were created as multi-media pieces based on my original art journal pages. Enjoy!

Rhaelyn

Love the energy that Rhaelyn puts forth in her headshot. Super cool! And the blue wall brings her alive.  Maybe I shouldn't paint over it...

Nico

I met the next Guess! kids model. Is there a bad angle on babies? I don't think so. Nico so rocked this shoot. Just when we thought he was sleepy or bored, he turned on the intensity. I loved all of his shots! Here are a few of our faves. 

Bella

I rarely get a chance to indulge my own vision for a photo shoot.  But my good friend Isabella is one of the most stylish, cool girls and I was super psyched to get her out on a shoot.  This amazing underpass gets more and more coated in graffiti every day and the colours and designs are amazing.  So we went for an Urban Edge kind of look and just played. She was so much fun to shoot and these are my favourite shots from the session. Thanks for helping me get my cool sign home too!

Art Journaling Class

For those of you in the scrapbook world, it's the latest thing! But more importantly than that, it's a journey in to your heart and soul that takes you in to the world of being an artist - even when you didn't think you could be an artist!

I am so excited to announce, that starting November 15th, I will be teaching an Art Journal class at the Scrap Yard! Click on the image below to view it full size - it has all the info on what the class is about.

There are two classes - Mondays at 12:30 or Thursdays at 6:00 pm.

The class is limited to ten students and is generating a LOT of interest.

Kyler

Kyler is 6 months old! And just in time for some lovely fall leaves - oh...and an impending storm, just hovering overhead! But we perservered, found a nicely sheltered spot with lots of character and were able to capture some lovely shots. Here's a sneek peek!

Feline

And then I played.  I took that wonderful image of Douglas and created this painting. They have it on display at the clinic - I had a hard time letting it go!  I LOVE the texture, colours and vibe of it. The yummy-ness of it speaks to me on so many levels.

Douglas and Gunner

The amazing people at Fish Creek Pet Hospital in Shawnessy asked me to come in and spend some time capturing their wonderful clinic cat, Douglas.  What a sweetheart! Such a calm, kind energy.  And then Gunner got in to the act  - and I had so much fun with him too-he's so sweet!
